Montgomery joined Rosalía de Castro for the 2003–2004 LEB-2 season in Spain, where the 6-foot-8 forward averaged 19.0 points and 8.2 rebounds per game and earned LEB-2 All-Imports Team recognition.
Montgomery remained in Spain with additional lower-division competition during the mid-2000s and later joined AB Esplugues-Portes for the 2007–2008 Spanish league season, appearing on a roster that included teammates Derek Stribling, Vincent Thomas, and Stefan Ivanovic.
Montgomery joined Al Riyadi/Aramex Amman for the 2008 Jordanian Premier League season, competing in Jordan’s top domestic competition.
Montgomery played college basketball at Lynn University, As a freshman he was part of the 1994-95 squad and wore No. 45 for head coach Jeff Price as Lynn finished 20-10 and reached the NAIA Tournament.
He remained with the program through the mid-1990s run that kept Lynn in postseason play every year, and the official Lynn all-time roster places him with the program from 1994 through 1997.
In 1995-96, Montgomery was again on Lynn’s roster with No. 45 under Price as the Fighting Knights finished 16-11 and returned to the NAIA Tournament.
Publicly available season stat tables from Lynn’s current archive do not preserve his full 1994-95, 1995-96, and 1996-97 individual game totals, starts, minutes, or shooting splits, but his later place in Lynn’s career scoring records confirms that he was a major contributor during his time with the program.
By 1996-97, Montgomery was part of the Lynn team that produced one of the best seasons in school history, going 28-3 under Jeff Price and reaching the NCAA Division II national semifinals in the school’s first full year competing in the NCAA.
That 1996-97 Lynn team included Jamail Pritchett, Chris Davis, Victor Axmacher, Harlan Brendel, Jarron Jones, Coy Patterson, Dante Maddox, Travis Hawthorne, Kenny Anders, Greg Laws, Matt Bixler, and Nathan Bell, with Montgomery in the rotation during the national semifinalist season.
During that 1996-97 campaign, Price was recognized as the Division II Bulletin National Coach of the Year, and Montgomery earned second-team honours alongside Victor Axmacher while Jamail Pritchett received first-team recognition.
Montgomery finished his Lynn career with 1,045 points, a total that later stood 10th in program history until it was passed in January 2022, which shows the level of offensive production he delivered across his Lynn career even though the surviving seasonal breakdowns are incomplete.
Because the currently preserved Lynn archive does not provide a complete season-by-season statistical table for his individual record, full verified totals for games played, games started, rebounds, assists, steals, blocks, minutes, and shooting percentages by season cannot be stated without adding unverified numbers.
What is clear is that Montgomery spent three seasons in the Lynn program from 1994-95 through 1996-97, wore No. 45, played for Jeff Price, helped the Fighting Knights reach the NAIA Tournament in 1994-95 and 1995-96, and was on the 28-3 1996-97 team that reached the NCAA Division II national semifinals while he closed his college career with 1,045 points.
