NoneBIO: Tom Fullarton was born in Brisbane (QLD) and began playing basketball as a junior with the Brisbane basketball program. Fullarton received a scholarship to attend the Australian Institute of Sport (Canberra) in 2015. He spent three years year there and played for the program’s state league team (2015, 2016, 2017).
NBL EXPERIENCE
Tom Fullarton made his NBL debut with the Brisbane Bullets at 17 years of age. He went scoreless in his first NBL game.
Brisbane returned to the NBL under Australian Boomers coach Andrej Lemanis, with Tom Fullarton (via Australian Institute of Sport) joining the club as a development player. After Jermaine Beal (released) was let go on January 21, Jeremy Kendle became part of Brisbane’s permanent roster and Fullarton was elevated from his development position to a full roster contract.
Fullarton’s only game, and best game of the season, came against Perth on February 3, where Fullarton (0 points) played 1 minute and 48 seconds as Mitchell Young (16 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal, and 1 block) led Brisbane, while Bryce Cotton (25 points) and Greg Hire (20 points, 4 rebounds, and 1 steal) led Perth to a 94-63 victory.
Fullarton (0 points across 1 game) did not appear again and no injury was reported during the season. Despite playing only one game, Fullarton was named Brisbane’s Young Player of the Year as the Bullets finished eighth with a 10-18 record.
2017/18
Brisbane entered 2017/18 following an eighth-place 10-18 season, with Andrej Lemanis remaining head coach and Adam Gibson captain. Torrey Craig (to Denver), Jermaine Beal (to Israel) and Jeremy Kendle (to South West Metro) departed, while Travis Trice (via Cairns), Stephen Holt (via Czech Republic) and Perrin Buford (via Italy) joined the roster.
Tom Fullarton had joined Brisbane as a development player the previous season before being elevated to a full contract following Beal’s release in January 2017. The deal carried into 2017/18, although Fullarton would later decide to leave professional basketball and pursue an AFL career with the Brisbane Lions after the season.
Fullarton (2 points across 7 games) saw only brief minutes throughout the season, with no injury identified as the reason for his limited appearances.
Fullarton’s best game came in Brisbane’s final game against Adelaide on February 17, where Fullarton (7 points and 1 rebound) made three field goals and a three-pointer in less than two minutes. Trice (20 points) and Holt (12 points) led Brisbane, while Majok Deng (20 points and 3 steals) led Adelaide to a 105-82 victory, leaving the Bullets eighth with a 9-19 record.
In May 2018, Fullarton announced his departure from professional basketball, choosing to transition to Australian rules football, where he joined the Brisbane Lions.

STATE LEAGUE EXPERIENCE
- BA Centre of Excellence (2015–2017), Sunshine Coast (2017–2018)
Fullarton joined BA Centre of Excellence for the 2015 SEABL season, entering the Canberra-based program as a Queensland wing while still a junior prospect. He was part of the 2015 men’s squad alongside players including Harry Froling, Deng Gak, Tanner Krebs, Will Magnay, Jack McVeigh, Dejan Vasiljevic, Jack White and Tom Wilson, and he was noted during the year as one of the younger players developing through SEABL minutes with the national pathway group.
He remained with BA Centre of Excellence for the 2016 SEABL season, continuing in a young roster that included several under-age players. By mid-season, the team had a 1–8 record, with Fullarton among the standout junior forwards in the group while balancing SEABL competition with representative commitments during the year.
Fullarton continued with BA Centre of Excellence into the 2017 SEABL season, completing his third year with the program before also joining Sunshine Coast in the QBL. His final CoE year placed him in a squad that included Mate Colina, Angus Glover, Kyle Zunic, Owen Hulland, Callum Dalton, Sam Froling, Lat Mayen, Will Magnay, Alex Mudronja, Matthew Johns, Daniel Grida, Kyle Bowen and Tamuri Wigness.
He joined Sunshine Coast for the 2017 QBL season, playing under first-year coach Brayden Heslehurst in a rebuilt Phoenix roster that also included Matt Kenyon, Jeromie Hill, CJ Massingale, Brad Williamson, Hayden Reed and Breland Hogan. Sunshine Coast entered the season with a revamped group after a 2016 campaign outside the playoff places, and Fullarton was added as one of the young NBL-linked players expected to lift the team’s frontcourt and wing depth.
Fullarton returned to Sunshine Coast for the 2018 QBL season, with the Phoenix coming off an 11th-place finish and a 5–12 record from the previous year. The 2018 roster added Delvon Johnson, Roy Booker, Jamaal Robateau, Josh Walters and Nathan Wilson while retaining Fullarton, CJ Massingale and Matt Donaldson, with Fullarton expected to bring improved fitness and court experience after his previous season with the club.
FIBA EXPERIENCE
Fullarton was named captain of the Australian 2016 under 17 world cup squad. The team couldnt make it past the Quarterfinals going down 74-63 to host nation Spain. The Australian national team coach, Andrej Lemanis stated he was "Boomers material" at the time.
Fullarton was also a part of the Australia in the U19 Emus team which participated in the 2016 Oceania Qualifiers.
