The 450 Club – The 29 Men Who Played 450 NBL Games

Adam Gibson is set to join an elite club, the 450 Club.

The South East Melbourne Phoenix co-captain will play his 450th NBL game on Sunday in Brisbane, something only 28 men have ever done before.

“A lot. It was kinda like football back in the early days. A lot more contact and that was great for me being able to be more physical. The league’s changed a lot, it’s grown so much in the last five years, it’s in a great position and I wish I was starting my career now. Hopefully, when I’m done and retired I can still be a part of it” said Gibson.

Gibson will become the only active player to reach to achieve the feat and the first since Mika Vukona reached the 450 mark, alongside Adam Gibson in 2019 while both were part of the Brisbane Bullets.

Gibson started his NBL career in 2005. He’s won two titles (2007 with Brisbane and 2009 with South Dragons), been a member of the All-NBL squad five times, won a best defensive player of the year award, captained five clubs and represented Australia at the 2012 London Olympics.

A complete list of NBL players to have played in 450 games is listed below.
