Westover joined Sandringham for the 2007 Big V season. The Melbourne-born guard, born on 31 October 1987 and with no known college career, played with the Sabres in a season where Sandringham reached the Big V championship series before losing to Dandenong in two games, 93–75 and 116–88.

Westover joined Melbourne for the 2008 Big V State Championship Men season. He played 24 games for the Tigers, wore number 41, and was part of Melbourne’s championship season as the Tigers defeated Sandringham 2–0 in the grand final series, winning 115–101 and 125–105.

Westover remained with Melbourne for the 2009 Big V State Championship Men season. His Melbourne stint overlapped with a group that included Ryan Bathie, Daryl Corletto, Tommy Greer, Daniel Johnson, Matt O’Hea, Adrien Sturt, Robbie Stone and Edin Zunic, and the Tigers won a second straight Big V title by defeating Ringwood 2–0 in the grand final series, 120–94 and 130–111.

Westover returned to Melbourne for the 2010 Big V State Championship Men season. Melbourne shifted toward a younger lineup after several experienced players moved elsewhere, with Westover and Robbie Stone stepping into larger roles as the Tigers continued in the Big V championship division.
