BIO: Shane Harris-Tunks was born in Greenacre (NSW) Harris-Tunks received a scholarship to attend the Australian Institute of Sport (Canberra) in 2007. He spent three years year there and played for the program’s state league team (2007, 2008, 2009).

STATE LEAGUE EXPERIENCE

AIS (2007–2009), Hobart (2015)

Harris-Tunks joined Canberra for the 2007 SEABL season with the AIS, beginning a three-season state league stint after receiving an AIS basketball scholarship and playing in a men’s group that included Patrick Mills, Daniel Johnson, Andrew Ogilvy, Cameron Gliddon and Matthew Dellavedova.

Harris-Tunks remained with Canberra for the 2008 SEABL season, continuing with the AIS in a squad that also featured Ryan Broekhoff, Todd Blanchfield, Hugh Greenwood, Brock Motum, Christian Salecich, Clinton Steindl and Mitchell Young.

The AIS tenure continued into the 2009 SEABL season, completing the provided 2007–2009 Canberra stint before Harris-Tunks moved out of the state league pathway later that year.

Harris-Tunks joined Hobart for the 2015 SEABL season, giving the Chargers a 210cm frontcourt player under coach Ben Rush after the club reshaped its roster with multiple new faces.

With Hobart in Round 7 of the 2015 SEABL season, Harris-Tunks was involved in the final play of an 83–81 loss to Dandenong after the Chargers scored 23 points in the fourth quarter, drew a late foul and had two free throws with the chance to force overtime before Dandenong secured the final rebound.

Hobart used Harris-Tunks again during its June 2015 ACT road sweep, and he scored five points in the fourth quarter against Canberra as the Chargers built a late lead before winning 75–73 on a buzzer-beating shot.
