BIO: Zac Carter was born in New Zealand. Carter received a scholarship to attend the Australian Institute of Sport (Canberra) in 2007. He spent one year there and played for the program’s state league team.

STATE LEAGUE EXPERIENCE
- AIS (2007), Southern Districts (2008), Brisbane (2014–2021)
Carter joined the AIS for the 2007 SEABL season, beginning his Australian state league pathway as part of the Australian Institute of Sport program before moving into Queensland senior competition the following year.
In 2008, Carter played for the Southern Districts Spartans in the Queensland Basketball League, giving him his first senior state league season in Queensland before his later move into long-term club basketball with Brisbane.
Carter’s Brisbane Capitals stint began earlier than the provided 2017–19 window, with his first game for the club coming on 2 August 2014, and by the time he re-signed for the 2021 NBL1 North season he had already spent seven seasons with Brisbane.
Across the Brisbane years that included the provided 2017, 2018 and 2019 seasons, he became one of the club’s key long-term players, won the Capitals’ MVP award in 2018, captained the team in 2019 and helped Brisbane win the 2019 QBL championship.
He remained with Brisbane into the NBL1 North era, reached his 100th game for the Capitals in 2021, scored 25 points with 6 rebounds in a June 2021 win over Red City, and later hit the go-ahead three-pointer in a 79–75 win over USC Rip City.
FIBA EXPERIENCE
Zac Carter joined the New Zealand Tall Blacks for the 2021 FIBA Asia Cup qualifiers, where he was named in the national squad and made his senior international appearance during the qualification window.
INTERNATIONAL EXPERIENCE
- New Zealand - Waikato (2014)
Carter joined Waikato Pistons for the 2014 New Zealand NBL season, playing his first season in New Zealand, and he averaged 10.8 points, 5.5 rebounds and 0.9 assists across 18 games.
Zac Carter remained with Waikato Pistons during the 2014 New Zealand NBL season and recorded a season-high 26 points with 9 rebounds in a June 2014 game and also scored 25 points in another June 2014 appearance while the team finished with an 8–10 record.
