Blalock played in the NBA development league (NBDL) for the Sioux Falls Skyforce (2006/07), Anaheim Arsenal (2007/08), and the Maine Red Claws/Reno Bighorns (2009/10).

Blalock moved to Israel for the 2007–08 season with Hapoel Jerusalem, where he appeared in two Winner League games, starting both, and averaged 10.0 points, 2.0 rebounds and 2.5 assists in 27.5 minutes per game as a short-term addition alongside teammates such as Ramel Curry, Dror Hagag, Jamie Arnold, Guy Pnini, Timothy Bowers and Noel Felix.
In European competition with Hapoel Jerusalem during 2007–08, he played two EuroCup games and averaged 1.0 point and 1.5 assists in 11.7 minutes per game.
He then joined Germany’s Artland Dragons for 2008–09 and played in both the Basketball Bundesliga and EuroCup, recording 23 total appearances across those competitions and averaging 4.1 points, 1.5 rebounds and 2.3 assists in 15.6 minutes per game, while his Bundesliga-only line was 13 games at 4.5 points and 2.1 assists per game.
During Artland’s EuroCup schedule, he shared the backcourt with guards including Zack Whiting and Drew Neitzel, and EuroCup records credit him with single-game highs of 7 assists and 4 rebounds.
Blalock later moved to Canada and was added by the Saint John Mill Rats ahead of the 2011–12 NBL Canada season, then played 35 regular season games, averaging 9.5 points, 5.0 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game while featuring with teammates such as Antoine Tisby, Anthony Anderson, Darren Duncan and Modibo Diarra, and he also logged a one-game playoff appearance with 8 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists.
In August 2012, he joined the Dominican Republic’s Huracanes del Atlántico in the LNB as a reinforcement, replacing Larry Ayuso, and was listed in the squad alongside players including Kelvin Peña, Carlos Morbán and Marlon Martínez.
Blalock returned to Saint John in 2013, and in a November 2013 NBL Canada result he scored 18 points in a 117–90 win in a game where Julian Herring scored 39 and both Tyrone Levett and Anthony Anderson were also key contributors.
COLLEGE
Blalock attended Iowa State University, and played for the Cyclones from 2003 to 2006, declaring for the NBA Draft after his junior year.
As a freshman in 2003-04, Blalock helped Iowa State finish 20-13 overall and 7-9 in Big 12 play, with the Cyclones reaching the National Invitation Tournament Final Four after wins over Georgia (82-74), Florida State (62-59), and Marquette (77-69) before an 84-81 overtime loss to Rutgers in the semifinals.
In that 2003-04 season, Blalock averaged 7.5 points per game while totaling 134 assists (4.0 per game), which ranked fifth in the Big 12 and placed him fourth on the Big 12 freshman assist charts, and he added 52 steals to rank seventh in the conference while shooting 30-for-69 from three-point range (43.5%) with 30 made threes that rated as the third-best total by an Iowa State freshman.
As a sophomore in 2004-05, Blalock increased his production to 12.3 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 4.9 assists per game as Iowa State went 19-12 overall and 9-7 in Big 12 play, earning a No. 9 seed in the NCAA Tournament and advancing to the second round after beating Minnesota 64-53 before falling to North Carolina 92-65.
During that 2004-05 campaign, Blalock was named Big 12 Player of the Week on March 7, 2005 after posting 19 points on 9-of-15 shooting in a win over Missouri and then scoring a season-high 20 points (including 14 in the second half) in a road win at Colorado, finishing the two-game week at 17-of-28 from the field (57.1%) with 12 assists and four steals.
As a junior in 2005-06, Blalock averaged 15.4 points per game and produced 461 points across 30 games while playing 1,072 total minutes (35.7 per game), and he added 184 assists (6.1 per game) and 65 steals (2.2 per game) while shooting 177-for-396 from the field (44.7%) as Iowa State finished 16-14 overall and 6-10 in Big 12 play.
Blalock earned third-team All-Big 12 recognition in 2006 while ranking second in the Big 12 and 10th nationally in assists for the season, and across his three Iowa State seasons he finished as a three-year starter who totaled 1,078 points, 464 assists, and 177 steals, with his career assist and steal totals both ranking among Iowa State’s top six.
