FAMILY: Tad’s son Tad Dufelmeier also played 58 games in the NBL. Also has a daughter Bianca Dufelmeier who played college basketball for the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

NBL EXPERIENCE

Tad Dufelmeier made his NBL debut with the Canberra Cannons on 6/2/1982. He scored 33 points in his first game.

During his first year in the NBL, Dufelmeier averaged 19.0 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 3.9 assists as the Cannons finished with a record of 8-18 .

1985
During the 1985 season Dufelmeier averaged 5.6 points, 1.4 rebounds, and 1.7 assists and helped the Cannons finish the regular season in a fourth place (19-7).

1987
In 1987, Dufelmeier averaged 16.8 points and 2.8 rebounds, and 4.5 assists, and helped guide the Cannons to a fifth place finish in the regular season (17-9).

COLLEGE

Tad Dufelmeier played for the Loyola (Illinois) Ramblers across the 1975–76 and 1976–77 seasons under head coach Jerry Lyne, arriving in a period where Loyola went 10–16 in 1975–76 before improving to 13–13 the following year.

During the 1975–76 season, Dufelmeier set a program benchmark with 128 field goals on 268 attempts (47.8%), and he also delivered one of Loyola’s best single-season free-throw campaigns on record by going 71-of-80 at 88.8%, a figure that still ranks among the top single-season FT% marks in school history (minimum-qualification lists).

In 1976–77, Dufelmeier again featured among Loyola’s notable free-throw seasons, finishing 59-of-73 at 80.8% as the Ramblers played to a .500 overall record (13–13).

His impact across the mid-1970s era was later recognised by the school when Loyola named him to its Men’s Basketball 1970s All-Decade Team (announced November 21, 2008), listing him among the 11 standout Ramblers of that decade.
