Born and raised in Horsham, Victoria and developed as a player by former NBL coach Owen Hughan, Mitch Creek has become of the Australia’s brightest young stars.
Creek spent two years at the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS), averaging 14.4 points, 6.6 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 1.3 steals per game, before deciding to make the leap into the NBL.
Creek was signed by (somewhat) hometown team, the Adelaide 36ers and debuted for the club on December 3rd, 2010. In 21 minutes of action off the bench, he scored seven points and forced three steals in a 92–79 win against Townsville.
As a rookie, he appeared in 20 games for the 36ers, averaging 5.8 points and 2.4 rebounds per game.
