STATE LEAGUE EXPERIENCE

Fitzgerald played for Maroochydore in the 2007 QABL State Championship season, appearing in 15 games and earning club MVP while leading the mens competition in scoring at 37.0 points per game. He was also named QABL State Championship Mens Most Valuable Player and selected to the QABL Mens All League Team.

Fitzgerald moved to Mackay for the 2008 QBL season and was part of the Meteors 2009 roster before captaining the club in 2010, where Mackay finished second at 15–3, reached the QBL grand final and finished runner-up to Rockhampton. He led the 2010 QBL in steals at 2.88 per game.

Fitzgerald returned to the Sunshine Coast program for the 2019 QBL season with Sunshine Coast Phoenix, captaining the team across a 10-game stint as the Phoenix finished ninth at 8–10 and missed the finals.

Across his Maroochydore and Sunshine Coast state-league seasons in 2007 and 2019, Fitzgerald recorded 25 games, 713 points, 261 rebounds, 110 assists, 66 steals, 11 blocks and 69 three-pointers, averaging 28.5 points and 10.4 rebounds while shooting 40.4 percent from the field and 79.6 percent at the free-throw line.

INTERNATIONAL EXPERIENCE

  • Singapore - Singapore Slingers (2008–2009) | Sweden - Malbas Malmö (2010–2012, 2013–2014), Trelleborg Pirates (2015–2018)

After Singapore exited the NBL, Fitzgerald stayed with the Slingers for the 2008 Singapore Challenge Series, recording 1 point and 1 rebound in 5:17 against Air21 Express on 21 September 2008.

He returned to Singapore for the 2009 Singapore Challenge against RP Harbour Centre at Singapore Indoor Stadium on 4 January 2009.

Fitzgerald joined Malbas Malmö for the 2010–11 Basketettan season in Sweden.

Fitzgerald played for Malbas Malmö in the 2011–12 Basketettan season in Sweden, scored 32 points in the Basketettan bronze match and was named Basketettan MVP and First Team guard.

Fitzgerald returned to Malbas Malmö for the 2013–14 Basketettan season in Sweden, scoring 139 points in league play and 20 points against IK Eos on 6 April 2014.

Fitzgerald joined Trelleborg Pirates for the 2015–16 Basketettan season in Sweden, making his Pirates debut in an October 2015 win over Malbas Malmö.

Fitzgerald remained with Trelleborg Pirates for the 2016–17 Swedish Superettan season.

Fitzgerald played for Trelleborg Pirates in the 2017–18 Swedish Superettan season, scoring 21 points in the club’s final Superettan game of the season on 21 April 2018.
