Free agent wing Joe Ingles has signed a 2-year, $4.5 million dollar deal with the Jazz, according to Yahoo Sports’ Adrian Wojnarowski.
Ingles came out of nowhere relative obscurity to play 79 games for Utah in his rookie season. He had spent several years overseas in Europe and Israel before coming across to make his NBA debut at 27 and it went exceedingly well. Ingles ended up starting 32 games for the Jazz while averaging 21 minutes as a floor-spacing wing.

At 6’8 and hitting 36 percent from behind the arc, Ingles is a viable shooting option off the bench for the Jazz. He’s a surprisingly solid passer, averaging 2.3 assists in his 21 minutes despite not touching the ball all that frequently, and could improve in his second year in the league.
Re-signing with Utah is a good move for both parties as Ingles tries to prove he’s can be a reliable rotation player. While the Jazz’s backcourt is loaded with 4s and 5s, Ingles stands apart by having some dribbling skills and his shooting as he backs up Gordon Hayward.
This is a huge jump in salary for Ingles who’se rookie contract was reportedly worth $507,336.
