CADEE EXHORTS KINGS FANS TO ATTEND FINAL KINGDOME GAME
We caught up with Sydney Kings starting point guard Jason Cadee to gain an insight of their tumultuous season. The Kings are at the bottom of the ladder with a 3-10 record, having won only one in the last seven games. We predicted a stronger finish for the club, but after a rash of injuries to superstar import Josh Childress and a mid-season coaching change, the Kings have reached rock bottom.
“This is not a record where we want to be. We have definitely improved in the last few weeks. We have a group of good guys, and we care about each other, we care for our fans and the welfare of the club. It’s been hard because Chill (Childress) has been injured. We want to start getting wins together, but we are missing a main piece, and the injury toll hurt us this season, “ said Cadee.
Temporary replacement Al Harrington was replaced by new import Damion James until Childress returns. Cadee said Harrington’s time with the club was helpful.
“Al is awesome. He is one of the best guys I have ever met. He has so much personality and character. He gave us something different. When our heads were down, Al brought us spark and energy. He made a huge impact.”
Cadee thinks highly of Childress though. They need him back in a hurry.
“JChill brings everything. He is the best player in the league. He changes everything. He’s our go to guy, he can score, rebound, put a stop, he’s a glue guy, he’s such a good passer and a big time basketball player. He just knows how to get it done. We can’t wait for him to get back on the court.”
He hopes the Kings fans will continue their support despite the challenges that the team has faced.
“My goal is to keep my starting spot for the whole year, and I want to see the team win more games. We are doing this for our fans and supporters. We have to take it one game at a time. We just want to thank everyone for your support and loyalty. We hope to see all our fans at our final game at the Kingdome (Qantas Credit Union Arena) tomorrow afternoon. We want to leave this place with a win for the fans.”
