BIO: Ingram was born and raised in Richmond, Virginia, and grew up in a tight-knit family of four. He loved basketball from a early age, and by the time he turned 12, he was beating his older brother by seven years, Lucius, in one-on-one. Ingram attended Highland Springs High School in Highland Springs, Virginia, where he led the basketball team to the Group AAA championship as a senior in 2002/03, the first title in school history. That year, he averaged 22.8 points and 9.5 rebounds per game, while shooting 49 percent from three-point range. He was subsequently named the Associated Press Group AAA Player of the Year for his division.
He left Highland Springs as a two-time Capital District Player of the Year and First-Team All-Metro, and as a senior was a First-Team All-State and First-Team All-Central Region pick.
Andre Ingram made his NBL debut with the Perth Wildcats at 31 years of age. He scored nine points in his first game.
When the Wildcat’s slumped to last spot in December with a 7–9 record as the team’s injury toll started to bite—long-term injuries to Martin, Jarrod Kenny, and Matthew Knight hurt the Wildcats. Import Jaron Johnson would take the brunt of the Wildcats’ poor start, and he was axed just three games into the season and replaced with three-point specialist Andre Ingram.
In a bizarre twist, Ingram left the team and returned to the US after just two games, citing mental issues, and Johnson was brought back into the team. It was at this time Perth legend Shawn Redhage announced that the 2016/17 season would be his last.
Johnson’s reinstatement was a temporary solution, and he was shown the door again in December with the Wildcats seizing the opportunity to sign former NBA guard Bryce Cotton.
With the addition of Cotton, the Wildcat’s became a completely different team and went on to claim their eighth NBL Championship.
The Wildcats went back-to-back for the first time since 1990/1991, while Gleeson became the first coach to guide the Wildcat’s to back-to-back championships.
Andre Ingram played one season in the NBL. He averaged 8.5 points, 2 rebounds, and 1.5 assists in 2 NBL games.
Dan Boyce is a die-hard Sydney Kings fan who grew up in Melbourne during the roaring 90's of Australian Basketball and spent far too much time collecting Futera NBL Basketball cards.

We go deep on the South Dragons’ fiery 2009 Grand Final clash with the Melbourne Tigers, including the now-infamous Game 3 brawl and Chris Anstey’s ejection. Horvath shares…

READ MOREThe possibility of an NBL expansion team in Geelong has gained momentum, with league owner Larry Kestelman confirming the city is a strong candidate—provided it can secure a suitable venue. However, much like we outlined in an article a number of years ago, How the Geelong Supercats could return to the NBL within 3 years, the missing piece isn’t just a stadium, but a real estate-backed development plan to make the project financially viable. Kestelman recently acknowledged Geelong’s growing basketball scene, citing record participation numbers…
READ MOREThere have been championship runs in the NBL defined by dominance and the sheer weight of talent that could overwhelm opponents before the ball was tipped. The dynasties of Perth, the star-studded reign of Melbourne, and the rise of Sydney’s financial muscle all tell tales of powerhouses that knew how to stay at the top. But there has only ever been one championship like Wollongong’s in 2001—a title won through sheer resilience, a team that had no business being there until they forced their way…
READ MOREThe Defensive Player of the Year (DPOY) award is supposed to recognise the most dominant defender in the NBA. If that’s the case, then Dyson Daniels should already have his name engraved on the trophy. But as the season winds down, there’s a growing concern that Daniels might get overlooked simply because he’s a guard. If that happens, it won’t just be unfair—it will be a disgrace. Daniels is Leading the NBA in Every Key Defensive Stat There’s no argument against Daniels’ defensive dominance this…
