Montepaschi Siena hosted Canadian Solar Virtus at PalaEstra on Wednesday May 2 in their home game for the LaegBasket A Series season. Montepaschi led at half time by one point (42-41) but a 10-26 third quarter in Virtus’ favour saw Montepaschi Siena lose the game 69-78.

Andersen has really been a force for Montepaschi in recent weeks, almost taking out our player of the week last week. In this game he played 19 minutes scoring four points and was the top rebounder for Montepaschi with six rebounds ( one offensive, five defensive). Ksistof Lavrinovic was the top scorer for Montepaschi wtih 17 points. Montepaschi will now play their final game of the regular season against Fabi Shoes Montegranaro on Sunday May 6.

Montepaschi Siena played Fabi Shoes Montegranaro on Sunday May 6 at PalaRossini. Montepaschi smashed Montegranaro in the first quarter scoring 35-12. Montepaschi held the lead at every change and won 113-57. Dave and Nikolaos Zisis were rested for the final game of the regular season which saw Montepaschi finish four points clear on top of the LegaBasket A Series table. Jonas Maciulis top scored for Montepaschi with 20 points while Shaun Stonerook grabbed the most rebounds with five defensive boards for the game. Montepaschi will now have an 11 day break before they host the first best of five play-off games at PalaEstra. Montepaschi will play eighth placed Cumberio Varese on May 17 and 19 before two away games on May 21 and 23 with the fifth and final game being played if needed at PalaEstra on May 25.
