Honourable Mentions

Joe Ingles

Hometown: Hope Valley, SA

Current Team: Regal FC Barcelona (Spain –  ACB)

Former Teams: South Dragons (NBL)

Unlucky for the second week in a row not to not be AussieHoopla’s International Player of the Week. In a spectacular overtime victory, Joe Ingles was a huge part of Regal FC Barcelona (21-5) defeating Blancos de Rueda (6-20) 92-86 in the last game of the season. Ingles started the game and then proceeded to fill the stat sheet with 19 points, 3 rebounds and 2 steals while including 5/5 from 3pt range.  This year Ingles averaged 5.6ppg, 1.6rpg and 1.6apg.

Steven Markovic

Hometown: Sydney, NSW

Current Team: Radnički Kragujevac (Serbia –  Serbian/Adriatic League)

Former Teams: West Sydney Razorbacks (NBL), Crvena Zvezda (Euroleage)

Steven Markovic was spectacular in what was the first game of the Serbian Serbian A League. Scoring 20 points and adding 5 assists to help Radnički Kragujevac (1-0) defeat Vojvodina (0-1) 88-86. Markovic was extremely impressive and looks set to be a vital piece in Kragujevac’s success this season. If Markovic can continue this high level of play for the rest of the season he could quite possibly find himself in a Boomers singlet come time for London 2012.
