Sean Lampley is a American former professional basketball player.
Lampley played at the University of California, leading the Golden Bears to victory over Clemson in the 1999 National Invitational Tournament and earning MVP honours.
In 2001, he led the team to the NCAA Tournament, but the Bears lost in the first round to Fresno State.
Lampley ended his career as the only player in school history to rank in the top 10 in points (1,776, 1st), rebounds (889, 4th) and assists (295, 10th).
He was named Pac-10 Player of the Year and Honorable Mention All-America his senior year by the AP.

Lampley joined the Saskatchewan Hawks for the 2002 Continental Basketball Association season, playing his first season in Canada after signing for the remainder of the campaign on January 28, 2002.
Lampley then moved to the Philippines with Red Bull Thunder during 2002, first joining for the remainder of the Governor’s Cup on April 25, 2002 before re-signing on September 13, 2002 for the remainder of the Commissioner’s Cup.
During Red Bull Thunder’s 2002 Commissioner’s Cup championship run, he played as an import alongside Julius Nwosu, with the local roster including Willie Miller, Mick Pennisi, Davonn Harp, Nelson Asaytono, Vince Hizon, Noli Locsin, Junthy Valenzuela, Lordy Tugade, and Jay Mendoza.
In 2004, Lampley signed a one-year deal with Makedonikos Kozani in Greece during August 2004, before departing the club in October 2004.
He returned to the Philippines in the 2005–2006 season, signing with the Barangay Ginebra Kings for the PBA Fiesta Conference on October 4, 2005, and was released on February 8, 2006.
Lampley joined Artland Dragons Quakenbrück in Germany in 2006, initially signing a four-week contract on March 2 before extending through the rest of the season on April 1, and he played on a Dragons roster that included Barisa Krasic, Chad Prewitt, Hrvoje Puljko, Ralf Rehberger, Filiberto Rivera, Tommy Smith, and Darius Hall under head coach Chris Fleming.
In Spain, he signed with Clínicas Rincón Axarquía on March 1, 2007 for the remainder of the 2006–2007 season in the LEB Gold competition.
Lampley’s final listed overseas stop came in Qatar with Al Jaysh Army SC Doha in 2008–2009, and he was listed with the club during the 2009 Arab Club Championships in Beirut on a squad that included Cheikh Sall and Fadi Hani, with the tournament running into late April 2009.
Lampley played college basketball at the University of California during the 1997–98 season before continuing his four-year career with the Golden Bears through the 2000–01 season, competing in the Pac-10 Conference under head coach Ben Braun.
In the 1997–98 season, California finished 13–14 overall (7–11 Pac-10), and Lampley appeared in 27 games as a freshman, averaging 3.6 points and 2.2 rebounds per game while shooting 46.9% from the field and recording 10 total steals across the season.
Across those 27 games, he totaled 98 points and 60 rebounds, adding 7 assists and 8 blocks while averaging 11.4 minutes per contest.
During the 1998–99 season, California posted a 22–8 overall record (11–7 Pac-10) and earned an NCAA Tournament berth, and Lampley appeared in 29 games, averaging 3.7 points and 2.6 rebounds per game while shooting 51.1% from the field and contributing 9 steals and 8 blocks.
He recorded 106 total points and 74 rebounds that season, helping the Golden Bears reach the NCAA Tournament second round.
In the 1999–2000 campaign, California finished 18–15 overall (8–10 Pac-10) and advanced to the NIT, and Lampley played in 31 games, averaging 7.5 points and 4.2 rebounds per game while shooting 48.5% from the field and adding 18 steals and 20 blocks.
He totaled 233 points and 131 rebounds during the 1999–2000 season, averaging 19.1 minutes per game while increasing his offensive role in the frontcourt rotation.
As a senior in 2000–01, California finished 23–9 overall (10–8 Pac-10) and reached the NCAA Tournament, and Lampley started 31 of 32 games, averaging 15.7 points and 7.5 rebounds per game while shooting 50.5% from the field.
During that 2000–01 season, he totaled 502 points and 241 rebounds, adding 31 assists, 23 steals, and 32 blocks while averaging 29.5 minutes per game, leading the team in rebounding and ranking among the team leaders in scoring.
Across his four-year career at California from 1997 to 2001, Lampley played in 119 games, averaging 7.8 points and 4.3 rebounds per game while shooting 49.3% from the field, finishing with 939 total points, 506 rebounds, 56 assists, 60 steals, and 68 blocks.
He was part of two NCAA Tournament teams (1999 and 2001) and one NIT team (2000) during his time with the Golden Bears.
