SHAQUILLE O’NEAL, MVP AND CHAMPION BRINGING HIS BIG TOUR TO AUSTRALIA IN JUNE 2020

NBA All-Star, sports analyst and DJ, Shaquille O’Neal will be returning to Australia in June 2020. This marks his first visit to the country in over 20 years.

His highly anticipated return will feature a national tour of Q&A sessions and seminars in Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane. The Shaq Tour is presented by La Trobe Financial. 

Shaq is a man with many nicknames – The Diesel, The Big Cactus, The Big Aristotle, The Real Deal, The Big Shamrock, Shaq Daddy, The Big Banana, The Big Galactus, Shaq Fu, Superman or simply Shaq.  

Shaquille O’Neal is regarded as one of the most dominant athletes and arguably the most gregarious personality in sports history. 

The 7’1″ and 147 kg giant was the number 1 draft pick in 1992. He averaged 23.7 points, 10.9 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 2.3 blocks over a span of nineteen years in the NBA. He has played for 5 NBA teams: the Orlando Magic, the Los Angeles Lakers, the Miami Heat, the Phoenix Suns, and the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Boston Celtics.

O’Neal’s individual accolades include the 1999–2000 MVP award, the 1992–93 NBA Rookie of the Year award, 15 All-Star game selections, three All-Star Game MVP awards, three Finals MVP awards, two scoring titles, 14 All-NBA team selections, and three NBA All-Defensive Team selections.

He is one of only three players to win NBA MVP, All-Star game MVP and Finals MVP awards in the same year (2000).  Shaq ranks 8th all-time in points scored, 6th in field goals, 15th in rebounds, and 8th in blocks. O’Neal also ranks third all-time in field goal percentage (58.2%). He was elected into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2016 and the FIBA Hall of Fame in 2017.

He wrote an autobiography (Shaq Talks Back) and preserves an online presence for his fan base. Shaq continues to engage his loyal and adoring fanbase post-retirement, with 14.8 million Twitter fans, 13.6 million Instagram followers, 6.1 million Facebook likes.

Shaq produced a number of albums (Biological Didn’t Bother, Shaq-Fu: Da Return, etc.), and starred in select movies Steel(1997), Kazaam (1996), Blue Chips (1994). 

The Big Diesel continues to put his time and energy into business ventures in social media, e-sports, multimedia and the food industry. Shaq is also a minority owner of the Sacramento Kings.
