Deng Manyang joined George Washington for the 2026–27 season as a first-year forward after emerging as one of Australia’s leading young prospects through the Central District Lions and Adelaide 36ers pathways.
George Washington head coach Chris Caputo announced Manyang as the program’s 10th newcomer in May 2026, with the school listing the Adelaide product at 6-foot-7 and 185 pounds and Central District Lions as his previous team.
Before arriving in college, Manyang helped Central District win the Under-18 Club Championship in 2024 before stepping up to NBL1 Central in 2025, where he averaged 9.8 points and 4.9 rebounds per game and earned a development player contract with the Adelaide 36ers.
His production continued to rise before leaving for the United States, with George Washington noting that he averaged 18.2 points and 8.8 rebounds across nine games for Central District while shooting 62 percent from the field.
Manyang entered the 2026–27 season as a freshman without previous NCAA playing experience, so his first college statistics will come with George Washington in the Atlantic 10 Conference.
