STATE LEAGUE EXPERIENCE

Ammar played for Southern Districts in the 2012 ABA season and was named team MVP at the end of that campaign.

Ammar was with Logan for the 2015 QBL season, forming part of a Thunder men’s group that included Mitchell Young, and he remained in the program when Logan kept him among its returning players for the 2016 QBL season under Derek Rucker.

Ammar continued with Logan from 2017 to 2019 in the QBL. In 2017, Logan entered the season with returning players including Mitch Young, Michael Cedar, Sean Carroll and Ammar. In 2018, Logan sat third at 12–4 with two regular-season games left. In 2019, he produced 22 points, 13 rebounds and one assist in a QBL win over North Gold Coast.

Ammar played for Logan in the 2020 QSL, averaging 9.9 points and 4.9 rebounds per game. In Logan’s final game of the 2020 season, he scored 20 points in a 117–98 finals loss to Brisbane.

Ammar returned to Southern Districts for the 2021 NBL1 North season after last playing for the Spartans in 2012. By that point he had played 240 games in top Queensland leagues, and in an August 28 2021 NBL1 North game against Logan he finished with 3 points, 4 rebounds and 1 assist in 23:12.

Ammar returned to Logan for the 2025 NBL1 North season, reconnecting with the Thunder men’s program after his earlier run with the club. He remained with Logan for the 2026 NBL1 North season.

INTERNATIONAL EXPERIENCE

  • Lebanon - Sagesse Al Hekmeh Beirut (2011–2012), Byblos (2012–2015), Mayrouba (2016–2017), Hoops Club (2017–2018)

Ammar joined Sagesse Al Hekmeh Beirut for the 2011–12 Lebanese Division A season, playing his first season in Lebanon, and Sagesse reached the semifinals.

Ammar joined Byblos for the 2012–13 Lebanese Division A season and averaged 8.0 points, 3.6 rebounds and 1.6 assists across 35 games.

Ammar remained with Byblos for the 2013–14 Lebanese Division A season and averaged 5.8 points, 2.2 rebounds and 0.8 assists across 23 games as the club reached the semifinals.

Ammar continued with Byblos for the 2014–15 Lebanese Division A season and averaged 4.1 points and 2.6 rebounds across 15 games as the club finished runner-up.

Ammar joined Mayrouba for the 2016–17 Lebanese Division A season and started all 17 games, averaging 6.9 points, 6.2 rebounds and 2.3 assists.

Ammar joined Hoops Club for the 2017–18 Lebanese Division A season and averaged 3.7 points and 2.0 rebounds across 25 games as the club reached the semifinals.

COLLEGE

Ammar played college basketball at Mars Hill during the 2003–04 season before continuing with the Lions program through the 2006–07 season, competing in the South Atlantic Conference at the NCAA Division II level.

In the 2003–04 season, Mars Hill finished 15–13 overall and 7–9 in South Atlantic Conference play under head coach Bill Popp, and Ammar appeared in 26 games as a freshman, averaging 3.2 points and 1.8 rebounds per game while shooting 44.4% from the field.

Across those 26 games in 2003–04, he totaled 83 points and 46 rebounds, recorded 9 assists and 5 steals, and played in a reserve role off the bench.

During the 2004–05 season, Mars Hill posted a 17–11 overall record and 9–7 mark in conference play, and Ammar played in 27 games, averaging 5.6 points and 2.9 rebounds per game while increasing his minutes and offensive production.

He shot above 45% from the field in that sophomore campaign and recorded multiple double-digit scoring performances as part of Mars Hill’s rotation in conference competition.

In 2005–06, Mars Hill finished 15–13 overall and 8–8 in South Atlantic Conference play, and Ammar appeared in 28 games, averaging 7.4 points and 3.5 rebounds per game while posting improved shooting numbers and expanded minutes as an upperclassman.

He recorded a season-high 18-point performance during that 2005–06 campaign and contributed consistently in conference matchups as the Lions remained competitive in league standings.

In his senior season of 2006–07, Mars Hill compiled a 17–11 overall record and 9–7 conference mark, and Ammar played in 27 games, averaging 9.1 points and 4.2 rebounds per game while logging his highest minutes total of his college career.

Across his four-year career at Mars Hill from 2003 to 2007, Ammar played in over 100 collegiate games, finishing with more than 500 career points and over 300 total rebounds while maintaining consistent field-goal efficiency and contributing as a rotational guard-forward within the Lions program.
