BIO: Born in Melbourne, Victoria, Lang attended Overnewton Anglican Community College in the suburb of Keilor, where he graduated from in 2002.

After graduating from high school, Lang began a business degree at Deakin University and started playing competitive basketball for the Keilor Thunder in 2004.

He averaged 13.1 points, 8.3 rebounds, 1.0 assists and 1.7 blocks in 25 games during his first season for the Thunder, helping his team win the Victorian Basketball League (VBL) Division 1 championship in 2004.

INTERNATIONAL EXPERIENCE

  • Germany - Ehingen Urspring (2010–2011)

Timothy Lang moved to Germany for the 2010–11 season with Ehingen Urspring, joining the club for the newly structured, two-conference ProB competition after returning a signed contract to complete Ehingen’s roster, with the team playing home games at the Johann Vanotti Gymnasium (capacity 1,500) in the third-tier ProB competition.

On October 24, 2010, Lang contributed to Ehingen’s 93–69 win over the Black Forest Panthers (Schwenningen) with 7 points, 7 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal and 3 blocks in 28 minutes, playing alongside teammates such as Akeem Vargas, Ruben Spoden, Kevin Bright and Virgil Matthews.

During the 2010–11 campaign, Ehingen finished first in the ProB South and swept the Bayer Giants Leverkusen 2–0 in the ProB round of 16 with wins on March 6 (79–67) and March 12 (75–72), then advanced past TV 1862 Langen 2–1 by winning Game 1 on March 19 (83–41) and Game 3 on March 29 (63–61), before taking the semi-final against Nürnberger BC 2–1 with wins on April 7 (84–81) and April 12 (59–47), and completing a 3–0 championship series sweep of BG Hessing Leitershofen with victories on April 16 (92–87), April 23 (92–87) and April 26 (91–65) to secure the 2010–11 ProB title and promotion to ProA.

COLLEGE

Timothy Lang played three years of NCAA Division I college basketball for Stetson University from 2006–2009, suiting up for the Hatters in the Atlantic Sun Conference under head coach Derek Waugh across the 2006-07, 2007-08, and 2008-09 seasons.

Lang joined Stetson for the 2006-07 season and appeared in all 31 games with six starts as the Hatters finished 11-20 overall (6-12 in Atlantic Sun play), with the team scoring 66.3 points per game and allowing 72.4 points per game across the season.

In 2006-07, Lang averaged 5.4 points and 3.5 rebounds in 19.2 minutes per game, and he produced his top scoring night at home against Savannah State with 20 points while shooting 5-for-7 from the field and going 10-for-10 at the free throw line, while also posting a season-high 10 rebounds in a Dec. 31, 2006 home win over Skidmore where he collected six offensive boards and four defensive rebounds.

As a 2007-08 junior, Lang played all 32 games and moved into the starting group for 22 of them as Stetson improved to a 16-16 overall record (11-5 in Atlantic Sun play) while scoring 65.3 points per game and giving up 68.2 per game, and individually he averaged 4.3 points and 2.8 rebounds in 15.1 minutes per game while leading the team in blocked shots with 16 for the season.

During the 2007-08 campaign, Lang reached double figures four times and set a season-high of 14 points at North Florida on Jan. 5, 2008, pulled down a career-high 11 rebounds against Kennesaw State on Jan. 17, 2008, drilled a career-best three triples by going 3-for-5 from deep in a home win over Jacksonville on March 1, 2008, and recorded a season-high three blocks versus Savannah State on Feb. 19, 2008.

In his 2008-09 senior season, Lang appeared in all 30 games with 27 starts as Stetson went 13-17 overall (9-11 in Atlantic Sun play), with the team averaging 66.3 points scored and 68.6 points allowed per game, while Lang averaged 6.5 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 1.2 blocks in 21.6 minutes per game, and he was part of a late-game push at Campbell on Feb. 27, 2009 when his jumper cut the margin to five points with 4:23 remaining.

Across Lang’s three-year Stetson career (2006–2009), he played 93 games with 55 starts, and his defensive production included 81 total blocked shots, which finished seventh on Stetson’s program career list at the time of his graduation.
