  • North Sydney (2012, 2015)

Kerry joined North Sydney for the 2012 Waratah Championship League season, with the Bears finishing first in the men’s competition and winning the title. In the Grand Final at Maitland Federation Centre, North Sydney beat Sydney Comets 77–66 after leading 45–32 at halftime, and Kerry scored 11 points alongside Ryan Thompson’s 20, Jarrad Weeks’ 12 and Brad Ryan’s 12.

During the same North Sydney stint, Kerry led the Bears with 16 points in a 77–64 game against Washington State at North Sydney Indoor Sports Centre on 9 August 2012, with Jarrad Weeks adding 14 points, Ryan Thompson leading the team with 5 rebounds and James McCann handing out 5 assists.

Kerry returned to North Sydney for the 2015 Waratah League season after the Bears had won another men’s title in 2014. North Sydney’s 2015 season included an 88–85 round-five win over Central Coast while playing as defending champions, while Sydney Comets later won the men’s championship.

COLLEGE

Kerry joined Tom Asbury’s Pepperdine program for the 2009-10 season. Pepperdine finished 7-24 overall and 3-11 in WCC play in 2009-10, placing eighth in the conference before ending its season with an 87-84 loss to Loyola Marymount in the first round of the WCC Tournament.

In that 2009-10 season, Kerry played 30 games and made 8 starts while averaging 10.3 minutes, 1.7 points, 1.6 rebounds, and 0.1 assists per game with shooting splits of 32.7 percent from the field, 66.7 percent from the free throw line, and no made three-pointers.

His freshman season totals were 309 minutes, 16 field goals made on 49 attempts, 18 free throws made on 27 attempts, 50 points, 48 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 blocks, 2 steals, 15 turnovers, and 56 personal fouls.

Kerry’s best-known scoring game of his freshman year came against Portland on January 23, 2010 when he scored a season-high 11 points and grabbed a team-high 7 rebounds in a 80-64 loss, and later in the season he also shared the team lead with 8 rebounds in a December loss to New Mexico State.

He was part of a young Pepperdine roster that included Keion Bell, Mychel Thompson, Taylor Darby, Lorne Jackson, Jonathan Dupre, Corbin Moore, Joshua Lowery, Caleb Willis, Gus Clardy, and Dane Suttle, and the team played its home games at Firestone Fieldhouse.

Kerry returned for the 2010-11 season as a sophomore under Asbury and again wore number 4 for Pepperdine in the WCC.

Pepperdine improved to 12-21 overall and 5-9 in conference play in 2010-11, finishing sixth in the WCC, beating San Diego 84-81 in the conference tournament, and then losing 59-76 to San Francisco in the next round.

In his sophomore season, Kerry appeared in 10 games and made 1 start while averaging 4.3 minutes, 0.6 points, 0.3 rebounds, and 0.3 assists per game with shooting splits of 25.0 percent from the field and 100.0 percent from the free throw line.

His 2010-11 totals were 43 minutes, 1 field goal made on 4 attempts, 4 free throws made on 4 attempts, 6 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 blocks, 1 turnover, and 11 personal fouls.

Kerry left Pepperdine at the end of the fall semester during the 2010-11 season with the intention of transferring, so his second college season ended after 10 appearances and before conference play was complete.

Across his two-year Pepperdine career from 2009-10 through 2010-11, Kerry played 40 games and made 9 starts while averaging 8.8 minutes, 1.4 points, 1.3 rebounds, and 0.2 assists per game.
