Pro Combine opportunity to provide Australia with promising talent

The NBL and W Sports and Media are pleased to announce in hosting of Australia’s first inaugural National Pro Combine on 20-21 June 2016 in Melbourne.

This excellent and historic event gives NBL clubs and SEABL clubs the chance to pick up young Australian basketball talent and also a potential pathway to the NBL. The combine is the first of its kind in Australia and will give players the opportunity to wow coaches by competing in live games, athletic tests and training drills.

Co-Organizer of the Inaugural Australian National Pro Combine, Stephen Annicchiarico is very excited for the combine to launch and reveal Australia’s hidden talents.

“We are very eager to help young Australians get their chance at professional basketball without having to move to the United States to play at a college level” said Stephen.

“While the focus of the Combine is to unearth some of Australia’s best up and coming young talent, we also expect to attract import talent currently playing in the Australian second tier leagues (such as the SEABL and State Leagues) who are ready to take the next step in their careers.”

With the likes of Andrew Gaze, Lanard Copeland, Joey Wright and Rob Beveridge set to coach at the combine, only the best of the best will be chosen to attend the event with a maximum limit of 80 players.

“We envisage the Combine will attract a variety of players from many of the second division leagues and country basketball associations in Australia. They will be coached at the Combine by various NBL coaches and other development coaches from around Australia.”

This combine sees another step forward in growing the talent in Australian basketball and continues to build excitement for this coming NBL season.

Registrations are now open through the official website for the Combine –  and close 11 June 2016.
