Scans today have revealed the severity of Kevin Lisch’s injury.
The Sydney Kings captain suffered a torn calf against the Illawarra Hawks yesterday and is expected to be on the sidelines for 8 weeks.
Everyone heals at different rates but the club has been advised that Lisch should be up and running at full strength by around mid-December.
This is a major blow to Sydney this early in the season. Guards Jason Cadee and Travis Leslie must now pick up the slack and take on the leadership for the Kings.
The depth chart looks rather thin and inexperienced, with rookie guards Adam Thoseby and Sam Daly poised to come off the bench.
Management is currently considering roster options and will provide an update in due course.
