The Sydney Kings seem to have have found a replacement for injured star Julian Khazzouh, one who hasn’t been retired for over for years (no disrespect to Ben Knight).
Towering centre Jordan Vandenberg has been training with the Kings over the past two days and is expected to join the team before the end of the week.

At 216cm, 120 kg, the incredibly athletic Vandenberg will be the leagues tallest player unless Townsville’s Luke Schenscher is able to make a return to the court.
The North Carolina State University graduate played five seasons with the Wolfpack. He averaged 4.6 points, 4.7 rebounds, 1.41 blocks and 68% field goal shooting in his senior season.
The Melbourne native made news headlines when he was signed by the New York Knicks for 24 hours. The move made the tally of Australian’s in the NBA a record 9 players. This was short lived however as the signed was done only to allow the Knicks to sign h for their D-League team for 2014.
He played nine games in the D-League before returning to Australia and playing for the Bendigo Braves (SEABL) and Waverly Falcons (BIGV) in Victoria’s second-tier basketball leagues.
This signing will also provide some assistance for Steven Markovic who after a number of illnesses and injuries is not expected to return this season.
