INTERNATIONAL EXPERIENCE

Bowen joined Ulsan Mobis Phoebus for the 2009 Korean Basketball League season, playing his first season in South Korea.

Later in 2009, Bowen moved within the Korean Basketball League and joined the Seoul SK Knights for the 2009 season.

Bowen joined Hamamatsu Higashimikawa Phoenix for the 2010–2011 bj league season in Japan, and his playing career concluded after that Japan stint in 2011.

COLLEGE

Bowen played college basketball at Maryland-Eastern Shore during the 2001–02 season before transferring to Illinois Chicago, where he competed from 2002 to 2006.

In the 2001–02 season at Maryland-Eastern Shore, Bowen appeared in 28 games as a freshman, starting 6 contests, and averaged 7.1 points and 4.5 rebounds per game while shooting 47.8% from the field.

Across that season he totaled 198 points and 126 rebounds, adding 18 assists, 14 steals and 18 blocks while averaging 18.4 minutes per game for a Hawks team that competed in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference.

After transferring to Illinois Chicago, Bowen sat out the 2002–03 season due to NCAA transfer regulations before returning to the floor in 2003–04.

In the 2003–04 season with the Flames, he played 28 games and started 15, averaging 9.2 points and 5.4 rebounds per game while shooting 50.3% from the field and contributing 21 blocks and 19 steals.

During the 2004–05 season, Bowen appeared in 30 games with 28 starts, averaging 12.0 points and 6.5 rebounds per game while shooting 53.1% from the field and recording 33 blocks, helping Illinois Chicago post a 15–14 overall record and compete in the Horizon League.

As a senior in 2005–06, Bowen started all 28 games for the Flames and averaged 13.8 points and 7.2 rebounds per game, finishing the year with 386 total points and 202 rebounds while shooting 52.4% from the field.

In that 2005–06 campaign he added 36 assists, 24 steals and 31 blocks, leading the team in rebounding and ranking among the Horizon League leaders in field goal percentage.

Across his three playing seasons at Illinois Chicago from 2003–04 through 2005–06, Bowen averaged 11.7 points and 6.4 rebounds per game, shooting above 50% from the field in each season and totaling 1,002 points and 555 rebounds during his Flames career.

Combined across his Division I career at Maryland-Eastern Shore and Illinois Chicago, Bowen played 114 games, scored 1,200 total points, and recorded 681 total rebounds while maintaining a career field goal percentage above 50%.
