International POTW: Patty Mills 9/4/12

Aussie Hoopla International Player of the Week

Patty Mills

Each week the AussieHoopla.com Player of the Week award goes to the Aussie who has had the greatest impact both on the stat sheet and their teams record.  This weeks winner is….

Hometown: Canberra, ACT

Current Team: San Antonio Spurs (NBA)

Former Teams: Portland Trailblazers (NBA), St Mary’s (NCAA)

It didn’t take him long to make out Player of the Week award after signing with San Antonio but Patty Mills effort of 20 points, 2 rebounds and 2 assists in 20 minutes has to rate as one of the best aussie performances in NBA history. (We think Andrew Bogut’s 31 point, 18 rebound effort against Orlando in 2011 is the best performance of all-time). Mills was named MVP for the game as the San Antonio Spurs (40-14) defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers (18-36) 125-90. Partial Aussie Kyrie Irving also had 13 points and 5 assists in the game. In 5 games Mills is averaging 9.2ppg, 1.6rpg and 1.4apg shooting at 59% from the field.
