Patty Mills

Current Team: San Antonio Spurs (NBA)

Former Teams: Xinjiang Flying Tigers (China), Melbourne Tigers (NBL), Portland Trailblazers (NBA), St Mary’s (NCAA)

He was a regular recipient of AussieHoopla’s International Player of the Week last year and the NBA is only a few weeks in, but already Pat Mills has his name up here again.

Mills earns the award based on his 18 point effort in the Spurs’ 97-86 victory against the Sacramento Kings. Patty lit up the scoreboard after spending his first five NBA games as merely an observer from the Spurs bench. Mills also added 3 assists and 2 rebounds whilst missing only one shot (8/9 field goals) during his 21 minutes of game time.
Currently Patty Mills averages 5.2ppg and 1.5apg.

Aron Baynes led his Slovenian team Union Olimpija (4-4) to a victory over Slovenian league outsider Szolnok (2-6). The game was never in the balance as Union Olimpija won comfortably 83-63, thanks to Baynes 24 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists effort. Playing in the Adriatic league Baynes has been putting up some big numbers and currently is averaging 10.5ppg, 3.9rpg, and shooting 64.9% from the floor.

Aleks Maric

Hometown: Sydney, NSW

Current Team: Lokomotiv Kuban (Russia – VTB League, Eurocup)

Former Teams: Nebraska (NCAA), KK Partizan (Serbia), Panathinaikos (Greece)

This week Aleks Maric scored 19 points, grabbed 8 rebounds and made 2 blocks in 25 minutes for Lokomotiv Kuban in the VTB United League. It was an easy victory as Lokomotiv Kuban (2-2) crushed Enisey Krasnoyarsk (2-2) 93-64 in what was the team’s third consecutive victory. Maric has been a monster on the for his new team and currently leads the league in rebounds. He is averaging 12.2ppg, 10.2rpg and 1.6spg over five games.

David Andersen

Hometown: Frankston, VIC

Current Team:  Fenerbahce Ulker (Turkey – TBL, Euroleague)

Former Teams: Montepaschi Siena (Italy), New Orleans Hornets (NBA), Toronto Raptors (NBA), Houston Rockets (NBA), CSKA Moscow (Euroleague), Wollongong Hawks (NBL),

Second place this week goes to center David Andersen. Andersen delivered 17 points in rapid fashion for Fenerbahce Ulker in their fifth Turkish League game of the season. Andersen came off the bench and in only 22 minutes scored 17 points (7/10 from the field). This delivered 4th-ranked Fenerbahce Ulker (4-1) a 83-74 victory over 13th-ranked Besiktas (0-4). This was Fenerbahce Ulker’s fourth consecutive victory in a row. This is Andersen’s first year with the team and currently he is averaging 6.0ppg and 3.2rpg in Turkish League play.
