Aussie Hoopla International Player of the Week
Joe Ingles
Each week the AussieHoopla.com Player of the Week award goes to the Aussie who has had the greatest impact both on the stat sheet and their teams record. This weeks winner is….
Current Team: Regal FC Barcelona (Spain – ACB)
Former Teams: South Dragons (NBL)
Although he is a regular in the player of the week mentions, this is the first time Joe Ingles has been named our POTW. We couldn’t ignore his contributions this week when he recorded 10 points, 4 rebounds and 5 assists in 24 minutes as Regal FC Barcelona (29-5) defeated Assignia Manresa (15-19) 77-71 and locked themselves into a first place finish in the Spanish ACB. Regal FC Barcelona now maintain a ten game winning streak heading into the playoffs. They have one more game left in the regular season. Ingles currently averages 5.4ppg, 1.7rpg, 1.8apg

Honourable Mentions
Nathan Jawai
Hometown: Sydney, NSW
Current Team: Unics Kazan (Russia – VTB United League/PBL)
Former Teams: Cairns Taipans (NBL), Toronto Raptors (NBA), Minnesota Timberwolves (NBA)
He’s a regular in the international POTW and when he delivers double-doubles on the regular it’s not hard to see why. Nathan Jawai netted 13 points, 13 rebounds and 2 blocks in a losing effort as Unics Kazan (14-2) fell to CSKA Moscow 74-62 on the road. CSKA Moscow was led by former Utah Jazz player Andrei Kirilenko who had 9 points. Jawai has been very productive in Russia this year, currently averaging 11.5ppg and 4.6rpg. Hopefully we will see him in a Gold Coast Blaze uniform next season as is the current rumor around basketball circles.

David Barlow
Hometown: Melbourne, VIC
Current Team: UCAM Murcia (Spain – ACB)
Former Teams: Metro State at Denver (NCAA), Sydney Kings, (NBL), Melbourne Tigers (NBL)
Earlier this month he was rumoured to be headed to the Melbourne Tigers but it seems David Barlow is quite happy in Spain right now. Barlow recorded 16 points, 5 rebounds and 2 assists as his team UCAM Murcia (13-21) defeated Asefa Estudian (11-23) 86-80. Barlow and Murcia did not finish high enough in the standings to make the playoffs. Barlow averaged 8.1ppg and 4.9rpg over the season.

Patty Mills
Hometown: Canberra, ACT
Current Team: San Antonio Spurs (NBA)
Former Teams: Portland Trailblazers (NBA), St Mary’s (NCAA)
Patty hasn’t got much time in the playoffs but when the San Antonio Spurs crushed the Utah Jazz 114-83, Patty took to the court in junk time and quickly nailed 9 points in only 14 minutes. The win gave the Spurs a 2-0 advantage against the Jazz, who since then have been ousted from the playoffs as the Spurs won the series 4-0. In a very short time in the NBA Mills has produced great numbers averaging 9.7ppg, 1.6rpg and 2.3apg for the year.
