Goodrick received a scholarship to attend the Australian Institute of Sport (Canberra) in 2018. He spent two years year there and played for the program’s state league team (2018, 2019).

NBL EXPERIENCE

Hunter Goodrick made his NBL debut with the Sydney Kings on 30/12/1899. He scored four points in his first game.

In November 2025, Goodrick signed with the Sydney Kings as an injury-replacement player for Keli Leaupepe.

Made headlines before his NBL career even began as he roughed up Hawks star JaVale McGee in a preseason game where he playing as a training player and fighting for a spot on the Kings roster.

Goodrick joined the Basketball Australia Centre of Excellence for the 2019 NBL1 South season, where the 2000-born forward played 15 games and averaged 12.6 points, 8.3 rebounds, 1.4 assists, 0.8 steals and 0.5 blocks.

Hunter Goodrick joined Norths for the 2025 NBL1 East season after signing with the Bears for the upcoming campaign, and the Townsville-born forward returned to his junior club and averaged 17.2 points, 11.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.5 steals while helping Norths finish sixth and win an elimination final over Manly Warringah.

Hunter Goodrick produced several standout performances for Norths in 2025, including 27 points and 17 rebounds against Manly Warringah, 29 points and 13 rebounds against the Sydney Comets, 25 points, 15 rebounds and five assists against Bankstown, and 24 points and 12 rebounds against Penrith.

Hunter Goodrick returned to play for Norths in 2026 after his first year with the Sydney Kings, with the Bears re-signing him for the 2026 NBL1 East season after his 2025 Star 5 campaign.

COLLEGE

Goodrick attended the University of South Dakota before transferring to California Baptist University. At South Dakota, he played two seasons and started all 31 games in 2021–22 while averaging 7.5 points and 7.2 rebounds, scoring in double figures 12 times, posting a season-high 15 points at South Dakota State on January 8, 2022, and pulling down 19 rebounds against North Dakota on January 10, 2022, which was noted as the most by a Coyote since 2009.

Goodrick joined California Baptist for the 2022–23 season and immediately became a consistent frontcourt piece, averaging 8.3 points and a team-leading 6.5 rebounds while playing 29 games with 16 starts. He recorded 11 double-digit scoring games, highlighted by a career-high 21 points against UC Riverside, and he also earned WAC All-Academic Team recognition during the year.

As a senior in 2023–24, Goodrick was the only Lancer to start and play in all 33 games, leading CBU with 281 rebounds and an 8.5 rebounds-per-game average while also leading the WAC in rebounding and ranking top 60 nationally in total and average boards. He produced 10 double-digit rebounding games and five double-doubles, hit a season-high 14 points on five occasions, and grabbed 16 rebounds twice, while adding further academic recognition through WAC All-Academic honours and selection to the NABC Honors Court.
