NBA EXPERIENCE

After going undrafted in the 2008 NBA Draft, Gary Ervin began his professional career in the NBA Development League. He was selected in the fourth round of the 2008 NBA D-League Draft by the Sioux Falls Skyforce and joined the team for the 2008–09 season. Ervin played for the Skyforce until January 20, 2009, when he was waived. Shortly after, on January 25, he was acquired by the Tulsa 66ers to finish out the season.

In the 2009–10 campaign, Ervin was again selected in the fourth round of the D-League Draft, this time by the Maine Red Claws. He appeared in only two games for the Red Claws before being waived on November 30, 2009. Despite brief stints across three D-League teams—Sioux Falls, Tulsa, and Maine—Ervin’s tenure in the NBA system was limited to development opportunities before he shifted his focus to overseas opportunities.

Ervin (7.4 points, 4.7 assists, 2.4 rebounds, and 1.1 steals) started 33 of 34 games that season and led the SEC in total assists with 160.

In 2005, Ervin transferred to the University of Arkansas and sat out the 2005–06 season due to NCAA transfer rules.
