NBA EXPERIENCE
On October 25, 2017, Sword signed with the Erie BayHawks of the NBA G League after a tryout. He spent two seasons with the club before joining the the Grand Rapids Gold in 2019.
On November 3, 2021, Sword was acquired by the Capital City Go-Go and on December 28, he signed a 10-day contract with the Washington Wizards. Sword played 3 games in the NBA, averaging 2.0 points in 6.3 minutes per game with the Wizards. On January 6, 2022, Sword was reacquired and activated by the Go-Go.
After a season in Venezula, Sword signed a deal with the Indiana Pacers, but was waived two days later. On October 28, 2023, he joined the Indiana Mad Ants.

After going undrafted in the 2016 NBA draft, Sword signed on June 25, 2016 with Wilki Morskie Szczecin of the Polish Basketball League, where he averaged 4.3 points, 1.9 rebounds, 1.1 assists and 11.7 minutes in 19 games.
After spending multiple seasons playing in the G League, Sword signed with Spartans Distrito Capital of the Venezuelan League for the 2023 season.
COLLEGE
Listed as a 4-star recruit by Rivals.com, Sword chose to attend Mississippi State over offers from Alabama, Auburn, and Georgia. Although he initially committed to head coach Rick Stansbury, he maintained his commitment to the Bulldogs even after Stansbury was replaced by Rick Ray. As a true freshman, Sword appeared in all 32 games, starting 30 of them. Despite the team’s struggles, finishing 4-14 in the SEC, Sword stood out by earning SEC Freshman of the Week honors twice and leading the Bulldogs in scoring with 10.5 points per game.
2013/14
In his sophomore season, Sword took a step forward, improving his scoring to 13.7 points per game. He recorded a career-high 33 points in a 91-82 loss to LSU, further establishing himself as a key player for Mississippi State.
2014/15
Sword's junior season was disrupted by a back injury that sidelined him during the first half of the year. However, he made a strong comeback during the conference portion of the season, once again leading the Bulldogs in scoring and helping them to a 6-12 SEC record. For his efforts, Sword was named Second Team All-SEC.
2015/16
Sword finished his college career as a consistent presence for the Bulldogs, concluding his tenure in ninth place on Mississippi State’s career leaderboard for steals (144). His impact on both ends of the floor left a lasting legacy at the program.
