BIO: Brad Robbins was born in Melbourne (VIC) and began playing basketball as a junior with the Dandenong basketball program. He represented Victoria in national competitions in Under 14s in 1998, Under 16s in 2000, and Under 18s in 2001 and 2002.

NBL EXPERIENCE

Brad Robbins made his NBL debut with the Victoria Giants at 18 years of age. He went scoreless in his first NBL game.

During the 2009/10 season Robbins averaged 4.5 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 2.1 assist and helped guide the Wildcat’s to a first place finish (17-11) in the regular season. The Wildcats defeated the fourth placed Gold Coast Blaze in two straight games. Robbins adding 6 points in game one (81-68) but went scoreless in game two (82-78), helping the team reach the NBL Grand Final where they would face the Wollongong Hawks.

Perth claimed game one comfortably with a 75–64 win at home with Robbins contributing 5 points. The series then moved to Wollongong for game two, where the Hawks returned the favour, defeating Perth 75–63 with Robbins struggling offensively and failing to score in 15 minutes of court time. The Wildcats returned home for the third and deciding game where Robbins delivered his best postseason performance, scoring 6 points and adding 2 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals to the box score as well. Perth comfortably defeated Wollongong 96–72 and Wildcats star guard Kevin Lisch was named Finals MVP after averaging 18 points and 4 rebounds over the three game series.

Brad Robbins played nine seasons across three NBL teams. This included the Victoria Giants, Cairns Taipans and Perth Wildcats. He averaged 4.4 points, 2.1 rebounds, and 1.7 assists in 215 NBL games.

In 2002, Robbins was a member of the Australian team at the Albert Schweitzer Tournament and the Oceania Junior Mens Qualification Tournament.

Then in 2003, he was part of the history-making, gold medal-winning Australian Emus Under 19 team that included the likes of Andrew Bogut, Damian Martin and Matthew Knight, and coached by Rob Beveridge.
