Bendigo to Play Home to Melbourne-Sydney Preseason Battle

The National Basketball League is the latest national sport to be lured to Bendigo.

The league announced yesterday that reigning champions Melbourne United will face the revitalised Sydney Kings in a preseason matchup at the recently $23 million redeveloped Bendigo Stadium.

It will be the first preseason hit-out for both sides, with the two NBL powerhouses then facing off the following night at the State Basketball Centre.

A main talking point will definitely be Kings big man Andrew Bogut, who recently signed a 2-year deal with Sydney to return home after 13 years in the NBA, following tenures with the Milwaukee Bucks, Golden State Warriors, Dallas Mavericks, Los Angeles Lakers and Cleveland Cavaliers.

The pre-season game will also be the first for Boomer Mitch McCarron in a Melbourne jersey, as well as the first time Kyle Adnam faces his former side.

Tickets are available online now.
