NBL EXPERIENCE

Adam Kendrick made his NBL debut with the Canberra Cannons at 18 years of age. He went scoreless in his first NBL game.

In 1988 Kendrick, as a development player, appeared in one game for the Cannons but failed to score. That year the Cannons finished with a record of 16-8 and in fourth place during the regular season.

ILLAWARRA HAWKS
1991

Kendrick wasn’t offered a deal to return to the Cannons after his debut NBL season and spent the next few years playing in the state leagues. In 1991, Kendrick received a opportunity to play for the Illawarra Hawks and was able to show his development since 1988, averaging 10.1 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 4.3 assists for the year.

On the 27th of July, 1991 Kendrick was a part of the highest scoring game in NBL history when the Illawarra Hawks lost to the Melbourne Tigers 186-158 in a game where a total of 344 points were scored. Kendrick contributed 18 points himself (shooting 8/16 from the field) and added 2 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals to the stat sheet as well. Remarkably the Hawks shot 76% from the field, which remains the highest shooting percentage ever recorded by a team in a losing effort.

Although Kendrick delivered his best NBL numbers in 1991 the Hawks struggled to find success and finished the season with a record of 6-20. In a suprising move he was not offered a contract to return the following season.

CANBERRA CANNONS
1993

Kendrick spent 1992 once again playing in the state leagues before being offered a chance to play with the Cannons. There, he averaged 2.6 points and 1.4 rebounds for the year as the Cannons finished in ninth place finish with a 12-14 record.

1994
In 1994, Kendrick averaged 2.9 points and 0.9 rebounds, and helped guide the Cannons to a second place finish in the regular season with a 7-19 record.

Adam Kendrick played four seasons in the NBL. He averaged 5.3 points, 1.8 rebounds, and 2.9 assists in 62 NBL games.
