BIO: Joshua Duach was born in Melbourne (VIC) and began playing basketball as a junior with the Kilsyth basketball program. He attended Billanook College prior to playing in the NCAA with Iona.

Duach helped Victoria to a Silver Medal at the 2021 Australian Under-20 Championships, where he played alongside Dyson Daniels.

NBL EXPERIENCE

Joshua Duach made his NBL debut with the Melbourne United at 19 years of age. He went scoreless in his first NBL game.

2022/23
Joshua Duach joined Melbourne United for the 2022/23 season as a Development Player, signing a one-year deal with potential for promotion to the full roster. Melbourne faced significant roster challenges after losing Jo Lual-Acuil, Matthew Dellavedova, and Jack White to overseas opportunities, while Ariel Hukporti’s season-ending Achilles injury left a glaring gap in their frontcourt.

The team brought in Isaac Humphries, Xavier Rathan-Mayes, Rayjon Tucker, and Marcus Lee midseason to stabilize the roster. Despite an inconsistent start (5-6), Melbourne closed the season strong with an 11-3 run, sparked by Tucker’s scoring (17.6 points, 6.1 rebounds) and Lee’s defensive contributions (9.1 points, 7.6 rebounds). Notable wins included a season-ending 116–107 victory over Adelaide, but United missed the playoffs due to points percentage.

Duach appeared in four games, averaging 0.3 points and 0 rebounds, while providing depth to a roster plagued by injuries. Melbourne finished with a 15-13 record, falling short of expectations but setting a foundation for future success.

Joshua Duach played one season in the NBL. He averaged 0.2 points, 0.2 rebounds, and 0 assists in 4 NBL games.

  • North Gold Coast (2023), Kilsyth (2024), Goldfields (2025)

Duach joined North Gold Coast for the 2023 NBL1 North season, adding senior-level minutes with the Seahawks after signing on 8 March 2023. He was used as a multi-position guard-wing and, among his 2023 outings, produced a 24-point, two-rebound, one-assist performance in one NBL1 North game while also recording a nine-point, three-rebound, one-assist line in another fixture.

Joshua Duach joined Kilsyth for the 2024 NBL1 South season, continuing the move into a Victorian senior competition and carrying over the provided note that he kept growing his game in a strong league setting. He opened the season with 12 points and four rebounds against Ringwood, added 13 points, five rebounds and two assists in another early April game, and finished the year with 123 points in 287 minutes and 57 seconds, shooting 44-for-122 from the field and 18-for-57 from three-point range.

Joshua Duach joined Goldfields for the 2025 NBL1 West season, and the provided early-season production of 25.8 points, 5.5 rebounds and 2.8 assists across his first nine games while shooting 42 percent from beyond the arc on 85 three-point attempts remained a major marker of that stint. He added several standout moments through the year, including 33 points and the late game-winning three in a 79-78 win over Lakeside, a 42-point game with nine made threes in a 106-110 result against Perth, and a 30-point return performance that helped Goldfields secure a home final. His 2025 season also ended with selection in the All-NBL1 West Men’s Second Team, and in the semi-final against Geraldton he scored 19 points with six rebounds.

COLLEGE

Joshua Duach spent his lone NCAA season at Iona in 2021–22, joining Rick Pitino’s Gaels as a freshman and being introduced by Pitino as “one of the premier young players in Australia,” a 6-foot-5 guard the staff believed could handle, pass, and score.

Duach’s freshman year came on an Iona team that finished 25–8 overall and won the MAAC regular-season title at 17–3, earning the league’s automatic NIT berth after being upset in the MAAC tournament quarterfinals.

In his only season at Iona, Duach appeared in 12 games with one start and played 44 total minutes, averaging 3.7 minutes per game while scoring 20 points with eight rebounds, one assist, three steals, and three blocks, and he shot 7-of-14 from the field, 3-of-9 from three, and 3-of-4 at the line.

His most notable postseason box-score moment came in the MAAC quarterfinal loss to Rider on March 9, 2022, where he played three minutes and knocked down two three-pointers (2-of-3 from deep) in limited floor time.

Iona’s season continued into the NIT due to its regular-season finish, and Duach appeared in the first-round game against Florida on March 17, logging two minutes and attempting one three-pointer as the Gaels were eliminated.
