STATE LEAGUE EXPERIENCE

Heuir joined Mackay for the 2013 QBL season after finishing at Southern Utah, signing for the remainder of the season and later being recognised among Mackay’s backcourt nominees for its Team of the Decade covering 2010 to 2019.

He remained with Mackay for the 2014 QBL season, earning QBL Player of the Week honours in Round 4. Mackay reached the grand final series before losing to Rockhampton, with the Meteors finishing as QBL runners-up.

Heuir joined Cairns for the 2016 QBL season and became a central part of the Marlins’ championship run, averaging 21.9 points, 4.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists while being named Cairns Marlins MVP. Cairns finished fifth at 11–6, swept Brisbane 2–0 in the grand final series, and Heuir was named QBL Grand Final MVP as the Marlins won the title.

He remained with Cairns for the 2017 QBL season, averaging 24.1 points, 4.1 rebounds and 3.5 assists while again being named Cairns Marlins MVP. Cairns finished fourth at 11–6 and reached the semi-finals before losing 79–77 to Townsville.

Heuir joined Knox for the 2019 NBL1 season, averaging 13.9 points, 3.5 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 1.0 steals across 18 games. He scored 25 points against Melbourne on 26 May 2019 and finished among Knox’s main scoring options during the first NBL1 season.

He later returned to Cairns for the 2025 NBL1 North season, averaging 12.2 points, 2.3 rebounds and 1.7 assists across nine games. His season included 25 points, six rebounds and two assists against Mackay on 31 May 2025, along with 24 points, 11 rebounds and seven assists on 26 July 2025.

INTERNATIONAL EXPERIENCE

  • New Zealand - Nelson (2018)

Heuir joined the Nelson Giants for the 2018 New Zealand NBL season, playing his first season in New Zealand and averaging 19.5 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 3.3 assists across 19 games.

On May 5, 2018 at Trafalgar Centre, Heuir scored 24 points in Nelson’s 103–100 home win over the Southland Sharks, a game where Kyle Adnam posted 32 points and 14 assists and Finn Delany added 25 points, with captain Sam Dempster hitting a key late three-pointer to help close out the result.

On June 13, 2018, Heuir recorded 14 points, nine assists, and three rebounds in Nelson’s 96–80 win over the Manawatu Jets, with teammate Tohi Smith-Milner also producing 21 points and 13 rebounds in the same game.

COLLEGE

Heuir played college basketball at Southern Utah from the 2009-10 season through the 2012-13 season, appearing in 115 games across four NCAA Division I years.

Heuir suited up for Southern Utah during the 2009-10 season, when the Thunderbirds went 7-22 (3-15) in Summit League play under head coach Roger Reid, and he played 25 games at 13.0 minutes per night while averaging 2.5 points, 1.6 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game with shooting splits of 33.9% from the field, 43.8% on three-pointers and 51.5% at the free-throw line, along with 0.1 steals, 0.1 blocks, 2.1 turnovers and 1.3 fouls per game.

In the 2010-11 season, Southern Utah finished 11-19 (7-11) in Summit League play under Roger Reid, and Heuir appeared in 30 games at 13.2 minutes per game, averaging 3.0 points, 1.3 rebounds and 1.3 assists while shooting 38.0% from the floor, 34.8% from three and 43.3% on free throws, adding 0.4 steals per game with 0.9 turnovers and 1.5 fouls per contest.

Heuir’s role expanded sharply in 2011-12, when he started all but two games for Southern Utah and played in 30 games at 31.3 minutes per game, averaging 10.8 points, 3.1 rebounds and 3.1 assists with 0.7 steals and 0.2 blocks per game while shooting 40.4% from the field, 31.4% from three and 77.6% at the line, and he led the team with 33 made three-pointers on 104 attempts.

On November 13, 2011, Heuir produced a career-high 33 points in a 95-78 win over Bryant at Viejas Arena in San Diego, shooting 13-for-16 from the field and 5-for-8 from three while also recording three rebounds and two assists, and later in that season he scored 22 points against Troy while adding three assists, two rebounds and a steal.

As a senior in 2012-13, Southern Utah went 11-20 overall and 8-12 in Big Sky play under head coach Nick Robinson, and Heuir played all 30 games at 31.0 minutes per game while posting team-leading scoring numbers of 15.5 points per game to go with 4.0 rebounds and 3.2 assists, shooting 37.0% from the field, 32.8% on three-pointers and 76.7% at the free-throw line, plus 0.8 steals and 0.2 blocks per game while averaging 3.3 turnovers and 2.5 fouls.

During Big Sky play, Heuir was named Big Sky Player of the Week on January 7, 2013 after scoring 30 points in Southern Utah’s 90-77 road win over Northern Arizona on January 5, going 6-for-11 from the floor, 4-for-6 from three and 14-for-16 at the line while adding four rebounds, two assists, two steals and a block, and he finished the season with second-team All-Big Sky recognition.

Across his Southern Utah career, Heuir’s cumulative college averages were 8.2 points, 2.5 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game, and he completed his Southern Utah playing career as a 2013 graduate after four seasons in Cedar City.
