Gabe Freeman spent the 2007 season in Mexico with Correcaminos UAT Reynosa in the Liga Nacional de Baloncesto Profesional, where he averaged 22.6 points and 8.1 rebounds across 10 games.
Freeman spent part of the 2008–2009 season in the Philippines with San Miguel Beermen after being selected as a mid-season import, playing 24 games and averaging 22.3 points, 15.5 rebounds, and 1.3 assists, and he was named Best Import of the conference while sharing the frontcourt with local starters that included Jay Washington and Danny Ildefonso.
Freeman spent the 2009–2010 season in the Philippines with San Miguel Beermen and was the team’s import for the 2010 PBA Fiesta Conference, where he played 29 games and averaged 21.6 points, 17.3 rebounds, and 1.5 assists, with his published conference totals including 627 points, 503 rebounds, and a 37-point single-game high, and he finished the conference as Best Import while playing alongside teammates including Jay Washington, Arwind Santos, Alex Cabagnot, Dondon Hontiveros, Olsen Racela, Mick Pennisi, Danny Seigle, Jonas Villanueva, Dorian Peña, Dennis Miranda, and Lordy Tugade under head coach Siot Tanquingcen as San Miguel reached the 2010 Fiesta Conference finals against Alaska.
Freeman spent part of 2010 in the Philippines with the Philippine Patriots in the ASEAN Basketball League after signing in January 2010 to replace Brandon Powell, and in ABL play he posted a noted 17-point, 19-rebound performance in a win that also featured contributions from teammates including Robert Wainwright and Jerwin Gaco, and he was part of the Patriots roster that won the ABL championship in the league’s inaugural season under coach Louie Alas as the team swept Satria Muda in the finals with LA Tenorio Ybanez named Finals MVP and local teammates including Mark Andaya involved in the title run.
Gabe Freeman played college basketball at Mesa Community College during the 2006-07 season after graduating from McClintock High School in Tempe, Arizona in 2004, with his college path also including a stop at Southern Utah University where he attended but never played a game for the Thunderbirds basketball team.
At Mesa Community College in 2006/07, Freeman was a first-team All-ACCAC selection and averaged 16.8 points and 8.9 rebounds per game, establishing himself as one of the league’s top frontcourt scorers and rebounders across the season.
During the 2006-07 campaign, Freeman also earned ACCAC Division I Men’s Basketball Player of the Week honours after averaging 26.5 points across a pair of victories, adding a documented in-season weekly award to his résumé alongside his end-of-season first-team all-conference recognition.
Freeman’s one season at Mesa CC in 2006-07 preceded his move on from junior college, while his time at Southern Utah University remained limited to enrollment only, with no official game appearances recorded for the Thunderbirds program during his stint there.
