BIO: Larry Davidson was born in Gosford (NSW). A scholarship-holder at the Australian Institute of Sport, Davidson led New South Wales to a national title at the 2002 U20 Australian Junior Championships with a MVP performance, earning the Bob Staunton Medal. Davidson received a scholarship to attend the Australian Institute of Sport (Canberra) in 2001. He spent two years year there and played for the program’s state league team (2001, 2002).
Larry Davidson made his NBL debut with the Hunter Pirates at 21 years of age. He scored six points in his first game.
During his time with the Hawks Davidson helped the team reach the Grand Final after they finished in second place (16-12) during the 2009/10 season. In the Hawks semi-final matchup with the third placed Townsville Crocodiles. Davidson delivered his best game of the season, racking up 17 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists, 3 steals and 7 blocks to almost single-handedly win the opening game 87-68. the Crocodiles returned the favour, defeating the Hawks 82-53 on their home court (Davidson contributing 4 points) and the Hawks entered a third and deciding game three back in Wollongong. The Hawks led the game from start to finish, winning 88-76 with Davidson adding 9 points and 4 rebounds to the box score.
The 2010 NBL Grand Final would then see the Hawks face the Perth Wildcats who claimed game one in Perth, 75–64, with Davidson being limited to only five points. The series then headed to Wollongong for game two, where the Hawks returned the favour and defeated Perth 75–63, behind a huge offensive game from Cam Tragardh (28 points) and also Davidson contributing 8 points while collecting 10 rebounds. The deciding game three would return to Western Australia where Perth comfortably defeated Wollongong 96-72, with Kevin Lisch exploding for 29 points (5 from 9 three point shots) in front of their home fans. Davidson contributed 8 points, 6 rebounds, and 2 blocks in the final game and Kevin Lisch was named Finals MVP after averaging 18 points and 4 rebounds over the three games.
Larry Davidson played twelve seasons across three NBL teams. This included the Hunter Pirates, Singapore Slingers, Wollongong Hawks and Illawarra Hawks. He averaged 7.3 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 1 assists in 319 NBL games.

Davidson accepted a scholarship to play college basketball at Boise State during the 2002-03 season, before suffering knee injuries that prevented him playing.
Davidson was forced to redshirt that season after undergoing surgery on both knees and exited the team in November 2003 without playing any NCAA games.
