BIO: Kyle Armour was born in Perth (WA) and began playing basketball as a junior with the Willetton basketball program. Armour received a scholarship to attend the Australian Institute of Sport (Canberra) in 2007. He spent one year there and played for the program’s state league team.

NBL EXPERIENCE

Kyle Armour made his NBL debut with the Perth Wildcats at 23 years of age. He went scoreless in his first NBL game.

As a development player, Armour would see limited playing opportunities with the Wildcats, appearing in only two game and failing to score.

During this time he was a member of the Wildcat’s roster that finished second on the ladder (19–9) before being defeated by the New Zealand Breakers in the NBL Grand Final.

COLLEGE

Armour played college basketball at Missouri State University–West Plains during the 2009–10 season before transferring to Augusta State, where he competed in the 2010–11 and 2011–12 seasons under head coach Dip Metress. In 2010–11, Augusta State’s schedule lists a 30–4 overall record (15–3 in Peach Belt Conference play), and Armour appeared in every contest while averaging 10.6 minutes per game and 1.4 assists per game off the bench, including eight minutes in the PBC Championship with two rebounds and an assist. Armour’s early season included an exhibition at Georgia in Athens where Augusta State’s recap notes he knocked down a three-pointer as part of a game in which teammates Travis Keels (12 points), George Johnson (11 points, two steals), and freshman Ben Purser (team-high seven rebounds) led the Jaguars statistically. During the 2010–11 season, Armour had a six-point outing against Paine (2-for-5 shooting, 1-for-3 from three, 1-for-2 at the line) with one assist in 19 minutes. He also logged 19 minutes against Lander in Peach Belt play, finishing with five rebounds (one offensive, four defensive), one assist, one steal, and one turnover while going 0-for-3 from the field and 0-for-2 on threes. One Australian basketball feature on his college move noted he transferred to Augusta State to play for Dip Metress and alongside fellow Perth product Ben Purser. In 2011–12, Augusta’s schedule lists a 17–11 overall record (12–6 in conference play), and Armour played 21 games with three starts, averaging 6.6 minutes, 1.8 points, 0.6 rebounds, 0.6 assists, 0.3 steals, and 0.4 turnovers per game while shooting .455 from the field, .444 from three, and .667 at the free throw line.
