With Australia’s largest basketball event in the rear view mirror, we look forward to FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 set to tip off next week in China.
In a similar fashion, the event will be the largest ever produced by FIBA and in turn will deliver the most ambitious TV, digital and social media coverage intentional basketball fans have ever witnessed.
A number of innovations and new tech will see the production, coverage, presentation and multi-platform availability of the event unlike any international basketball event before with it including augmented reality, referee-audio, and a broadcast SuperFeed.
Live referee audio will be aired reviewing calls, as well as in selected moments during game’s final moments as part of the live broadcast.
There will be 20 cameras during preliminary round games and 25 cameras from the Quarter-Finals onwards enabling FIBA to distribute exclusive content including interviews, slow-motion sequences, replay angles, and highlight reels, clipped and available within an hour of the game.
There will also be a daily wrap-up show featuring the day’s top plays within hours of each day’s final game.
Additionally, the live feed for the Final games in Beijing will be enhanced with augmented reality technology to deliver spectacular 3D graphics never before used in international basketball.
“We are set to experience 92 games of top-level basketball across China in the most anticipated sporting event of the year. This will be the biggest production and distribution operation we have ever done, allowing our partners to use tailor-made and exclusive content. Thanks to these industry-leading innovations fans throughout the world will experience the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 like never before” Andreas Zagklis, Secretary General of FIBA stated to the media.
Fans will also be able to follow all the action on FIBA Basketball World Cup channels such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube channels and in China via Weibo and WeChat.
