NBL EXPERIENCE

Scottie Wilbekin made his NBL debut with the Cairns Taipans at 21 years of age. He scored 23 points in his first game.

Scottie Jordan Wilbekin is a American-born, naturalized Turkish professional basketball player for Maccabi Tel Aviv of the Israeli Premier League and the EuroLeague.

He played college basketball for the Florida Gators, where he was named the Southeastern Conference Player of the Year in 2014.

Wilbekin played professional basketball in Australia, Greece, Turkey and Israel.

He led Darüşşafaka to win the 2018 EuroCup title, while earning the EuroCup Finals and the Regular Season MVP awards.

After skipping his senior year at The Rock, Wilbekin accepted a athletic scholarship to attend the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida, where he played for coach Billy Donovan’s Gators team’s from 2010 to 2014.

During his 2013/14 senior season, he led the Florida Gators to the Southeastern Conference (SEC) regular season championship and the SEC Tournament title, and he was named the SEC Player of the Year by the conference’s coaches and the Associated Press.

In addition, The Sporting News named him a third-team All-American.

With Wilbekin as the team’s senior leader, the Gators advanced to the 2014 NCAA Final Four.

Scottie Wilbekin played one season in the NBL. He averaged 15.2 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 4.2 assists in 32 NBL games.

INTERNATIONAL EXPERIENCE

Scottie Wilbekin joined AEK for the 2014–2015 Greek Basket League season, playing his first season in Greece. He appeared in 29 domestic league games and averaged 11.2 points, 3.1 assists and 2.4 rebounds per game while also competing in the EuroCup, where he averaged 12.0 points across 18 games and helped AEK reach the quarterfinals. His first professional season overseas established him as a starting guard in European competition.

Wilbekin joined Darüşşafaka for the 2015–2016 Turkish Basketball Super League season, remaining with the club through 2017–2018. In his debut season in Turkey he averaged 14.5 points and 3.6 assists in the domestic league and competed in the EuroLeague, posting 10.7 points per game. During the 2017–2018 campaign he led Darüşşafaka to the EuroCup championship, earning EuroCup MVP honours after averaging 19.7 points and 3.8 assists in the competition and scoring 28 points in the decisive Game 2 of the finals against Lokomotiv Kuban. He was also named to the All-EuroCup First Team that season.

Wilbekin joined Maccabi Tel Aviv for the 2018–2019 Israeli Premier League season, beginning a four-year tenure in Israel. In his first year he averaged 16.1 points and 3.2 assists in EuroLeague play and was named Israeli League Finals MVP after leading Maccabi to the 2019 Israeli championship. He remained a primary scorer in subsequent seasons, averaging 16.0 points in the 2019–2020 EuroLeague season and 14.5 points in 2020–2021 while helping Maccabi win additional Israeli League titles in 2020–2021 and 2021–2022, along with the Israeli State Cup in 2020–2021. Across his Maccabi tenure he surpassed 1,500 EuroLeague career points and regularly ranked among the team’s leading scorers and three-point shooters.

Wilbekin joined Fenerbahçe for the 2022–2023 Turkish Basketball Super League season, returning to Turkey. In his first season with the club he averaged 13.1 points and 3.3 assists in EuroLeague competition and helped Fenerbahçe reach the Turkish League Finals. During the 2023–2024 campaign he averaged 16.1 points and 3.9 assists in the EuroLeague and was selected to the All-EuroLeague Second Team while guiding Fenerbahçe to the Turkish League championship. He has remained a starting guard for the club in subsequent EuroLeague seasons

COLLEGE

Wilbekin played college basketball at Florida from 2010–11 through 2013–14 under head coach Billy Donovan, finishing his career with 143 games played, 64 starts, 953 points (6.7 per game), 419 assists (2.9 per game), 294 rebounds (2.1 per game) and 167 steals (1.2 per game), while ending in Florida’s career top 10 in assists, steals and games played.

As a freshman in 2010–11, Wilbekin suited up for a Florida team that went 26–11 and 13–3 in SEC play to win the SEC regular-season title before reaching the NCAA Tournament Elite Eight, and he appeared in all 37 games with one start, totaling 90 points (2.4 per game) on 31-for-89 shooting, 13-for-46 from three-point range and 15-for-25 at the line, along with 55 rebounds, 61 assists and 36 steals in 631 minutes as a reserve guard in the backcourt rotation.

As a sophomore in 2011–12, Florida again finished 26–11 and returned to the NCAA Tournament Elite Eight, and Wilbekin played all 37 games with one start, scoring 97 points (2.6 per game) while shooting 33-for-76 from the field and 21-for-46 from three, adding 55 rebounds, 61 assists and 22 steals across 564 minutes as he continued in a backup point-guard role behind Erving Walker.

As a junior in 2012–13, Wilbekin moved into a featured role for a Florida team that went 29–8, won the SEC regular-season championship and made a third straight NCAA Tournament Elite Eight, and in 35 games (29 starts) he produced 319 points (9.1 per game) on 116-for-256 shooting with 37 made threes, while adding 101 rebounds, 174 assists and 53 steals; he led the SEC in assist-to-turnover ratio (2.4), earned AP All-SEC honorable mention and made the SEC All-Defensive Team, with notable outputs that included a first career points-and-assists double-double against Missouri (13 points, 10 assists), a 10-assist game at Yale, 10 assists at Auburn, a career-high eight rebounds at Tennessee, and a career-high 17 points at Georgia that helped earn him SEC Player of the Week recognition during the season.

As a senior in 2013–14, Wilbekin helped Florida finish 36–3, go 18–0 in SEC play, win the SEC regular-season title and SEC Tournament championship, and reach the NCAA Tournament Final Four, while he appeared in 34 games (33 starts) and averaged 13.1 points per game on 140-for-348 shooting and 67-for-172 from three, with 447 total points, 123 assists, 83 rebounds and 56 steals in 1,155 minutes; after serving a six-game suspension (one exhibition and five regular-season games) before his season debut, he returned to start against Jacksonville and logged 12 points and seven assists, later posting a five-steal game with eight assists against Florida State, setting new scoring highs with 21 points at Tennessee and 23 points at Kentucky, and delivering a 19-point game against Missouri that included 13-of-16 free throws as he became a frequent late-game foul-line option for Florida.

Across Florida’s 2014 postseason run, Wilbekin earned SEC Player of the Year honors (AP and coaches), SEC Tournament MVP, and NCAA South Regional Most Outstanding Player, becoming the first Gator and only the second SEC player to sweep SEC Player of the Year, SEC Tournament MVP and NCAA Regional MOP in the same season, while also being named a third-team All-American by the AP, NABC and Sporting News; in the NCAA Tournament he averaged 16.8 points per game through Florida’s first four tournament games, and his senior-year signature performances included 21 points on a career-best nine field goals against Pittsburgh, a win over UCLA that sent Florida to a fourth straight Elite Eight, and a South Regional final victory over Dayton in which he matched his career-high with 23 points to help push the Gators into the Final Four.
